Lutheran Dartball League results through four weeks

Results from the Lutheran Dartball League from week four are here.

League-leading Wegan B lost its first game of the year to Wegan A 5-3 but remains in first place with an 11-1 record.

Immanuel Darty got two games from the Pastors to move to second place. Darty lost the second game 5-4 in 11 innings. Sauers E got shut out in its second game 7-0 but remains tied for second.

Immanuel 1 and Wegan W both lost two games but remain tied for fourth with 8-4 records. Wegan W lost its first game to Dudleytown N 5-3 in 10 innings and won the third game 9-8 in 12 innings.

There are five teams tied for seventh in the league. Dudleytown Mets, Jonesville, Sauers B, Redeemer N and White Creek N all have a record of 7-5. Sauers B swept Hayden Methodist all three games in spite of Hayden hitting two home runs in the second game.

History: The team that ranks fourth in the league with seniority is Immanuel 1. This year marks 64 years in the league for Immanuel 1. Its record through 63 years is 1,908-1,857 for a winning percentage of .506. Its best year was in 1977-78 when they finished third with a record of 38-16 for a .704 winning percentage.

Although Immanuel 1 has never won the league, it did finish runner-up in 1965-66, 1981-82 and 1999-2000. Immanuel 1 has won the tourney three times, 1959, 1971 and 1985, and was runner-up in the tourney in 1966 and 1970.

In their 63 years, they have scored 21,775 runs in 3,765 league games for an average of 5.78 runs/game. Immanuel 1 is tied for third with the highest score in a league game when it scored 27 runs in 1964-65. Their best three-game series has been 44 runs in 1972-73 and 1982-83.

In 2001-02, the league celebrated its 50th year. For the tourney, each team selected a player from their team to be on the silver anniversary team. Immanuel 1 chose Bill Kamman to represent their team. He played for two years with Brownstown and started playing with Immanuel 1 in 1957.

He was always considered to be one of the better hitters on the team. To get caught up on the first three weeks, Dudleytown N selected Lawrence Bobb, Sauers B selected Glenn Benter and Wegan W put Wayne Tormoehlen on the silver anniversary team.
