Brownstown school board to meet Tuesday

The Brownstown Central Community School Corp. board of school trustees plans to hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the administration office, 608 W. Commerce St., Brownstown.

The purpose of the hearing is to discuss and receive comments on a tentative contract agreement between the corporation and the Brownstown Central Classroom Teachers Association. That proposed contract may be viewed online at btownccs.k12.in.us/documents under the board tab.

After the public hearing, the regular meeting will be held. Agenda items include resolutions to adopt the 2024-26 capital projects and 2024-28 bus replacements plans; an update on the 2024 Brownstown Elementary School project; a resolution to purchase property; consideration of weather guidelines for outdoor practices; a report on the April 18, 2024, solar eclipse plan; and resolutions concerning a general obligation bond.

The hearing and meeting are open to the public and press.

At 6 p.m. Tuesday, trustees will meet in executive session — closed to the public and press — to receive information about prospective employees and discuss individuals over whom it has jurisdiction; discuss strategy with respect to collective bargaining; and discuss the assessment, design and implementation of school safety and security measures, plans and systems.
