Boys soccer

Seymour

The Owls traveled to Jeffersonville on Monday to compete in postseason action.

Seymour faced off with Floyd Central in the first round of sectional, dropping the match 3-0, ending their season.

Goalkeeper Lance Hubbard picked up six saves in the loss.

Seymour finished the season with an 8-5-2 record and 4-2 in the Hoosier Hills Conference.

Volleyball

Crothersville

The Tigers faced off with conference foe New Washington on Monday night at Crothersville High School.

The girls dropped the match in three sets, 15-25, 16-25, 13-25.

Crothersville fell to 4-23 and will travel to Lanesville on Thursday at 6 p.m for a varsity-only matchup.

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars faced off with Floyd Central on Monday evening, dropping the match in three very competitive sets, 24-26, 21-25, 22-25.

Trinity fell to 15-12 on the season and now has one last regular-season competition on Saturday at Columbus East. The Cougars will face multiple schools in the Columbus East Invitational at 9 a.m.

Sectional volleyball

Jackson County volleyball teams will close out the regular season part of their schedules this week, then turn their attention to IHSAA tournament play next week.

Seymour will host a Class 4A sectional, Medora will host a Class A tournament and Brownstown Central will travel to Henryville for a Class 2A sectional. The sectionals will be played on Oct. 10, 12 and 14.

Seymour will meet New Albany at 6 p.m. Oct. 12, followed by Bedford North Lawrence playing Jeffersonville.

Jennings County drew a bye and will play the Seymour-New Albany winner at 11 a.m. Oct. 14. Floyd Central drew the other bye and will play the BNL-Jeffersonville winner in the second semifinal with the winners advancing to the championship match at 6 p.m. that night.

Crothersville and New Washington will play in the opening match of the Medora Sectional at 7 p.m. Oct. 12.

Trinity Lutheran will play the Crothersville-New Washington winner at 11 a.m. Oct. 14, followed by Medora playing Rising Sun. The finals are set at 6 p.m. that day.

Brownstown will play Henryville in the opening match at Henryville at 7 p.m. Oct. 10.

Austin drew Eastern (Pekin) at 6 p.m. Oct. 12, followed by Clarksville playing Mitchell.

Paoli will face the Brownstown-Henryville winner at 11 a.m. Oct. 14, followed by the winners of the Thursday matches, and then the championship match is set to start at 6 p.m.
