The Jackson County Chamber will host its second First Responder Appreciation Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 27 at Pewter Hall, 850 W. Sweet St., Brownstown.

Members of all Jackson County first responder departments (law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services and community corrections) are invited to attend this free event. Attendees are asked to register by sending an email to [email protected].

New this year, the chamber is inviting Jackson County first responder departments to apply for a matching grant from the Jackson County Chamber Foundation. The grant requests should be for department training or equipment that will improve life safety service to county residents.

Each request can be for up to $500 of matching funds. Completed applications are due no later than Oct. 6. To apply or for information, email [email protected].

“We are thrilled to be hosting the Jackson County first responders breakfast in partnership with our event sponsors again this year,” said Dan Robison, director of the Jackson County Chamber. “This event gives us the opportunity to give back and show some respect and appreciation to the folks who serve our community with great commitment. The addition of the Chamber Foundation grant will hopefully increase the level of service provided to the community through training and equipment improvements.”

Businesses, organization or individuals interested in supporting the breakfast or the Chamber Foundation should email [email protected].
