Seymour Main Street is planning its annual Downtown Trick or Treat event from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at participating downtown locations.

“We are so excited to be hosting a night of family-friendly tricks and treats in our historic downtown Seymour,” said Bri Roll, executive director of Seymour Main Street.

“We are so grateful to the Seymour Police Department for directing traffic, providing security and simply being a friendly presence at this event,” she said. “We also want to give a special thank you to the participating business who will be donating both their time and treats and who help make this event successful. We are so honored to be your partner in planning, promoting, preserving Seymour, Indiana’s historic downtown area.”

A map with participating businesses will be available closer to the event date. Police officers will be present to direct traffic at the major intersections, and guests are encouraged to only cross streets in the marked pedestrian crosswalks.

At 6 p.m. that day, the Seymour Evening Lions Club will hold its Halloween Parade with a selection of eerie tunes provided by the Seymour High School band. The parade will begin at the Seymour Post Office and end in the Smalltown Plaza (the former American Legion Post 89 Annex) parking lot, where the night will be finished off with a chance to win prizes at the costume contest.
