What’s the name of the book and author you are recommending?

“In the Hall with the Knife” by Diana Peterfeund.

What made you want to pick up this book in the first place?

I asked for young adult mystery book recommendations, and this title was one that was on the list. I chose it for the pure and simple fact that it is a Clue mystery.

Once you got into the book, what made you want to keep reading it?

I wanted to see if my thoughts on who the culprit was were accurate or not. I love trying to figure out whodunit before the big secret is revealed.

Once you finished the book, what did you like about it?

I liked the puzzle. I find books that require me to try and piece together the events that actually took place fun to read.

What is the book about?

A ragtag crew of students from the elite prep Blackbrook Academy, their headmaster and a house mother find themselves stranded on campus at Tudor Hall after a killer storm hits. Hours after the group come together, the headmaster is found dead, lying in a pool of his own blood, and it looks as though it was no accident. Not knowing who to trust within the walls of Tudor Hall, will the students, who are all hiding something and have motives to kill, figure out who the culprit is before it’s too late?

Why would you recommend this book to others?

This is a fun book to read if you are into Clue-style mysteries. Think “Knives Out” or “Glass Onion” but for young adults. The library has the book available in book print and eBook.
