READ Jackson County is conducting a fall paint party fundraiser from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Jackson County Learning Center, 323 Dupont Drive, Seymour.

Participants will complete a 12-by-12 painting of pumpkins. The cost is $35. Tickets must be purchased by Thursday at the learning center or online at eventbrite.com.

Supplies and step-by-step instruction will be provided, and no experience is needed. Snacks also will be provided during the event.

Proceeds will benefit READ Jackson County, a nonprofit organization with a mission focused on increasing the literacy of adults and children in the county. Through various programs, the group hopes to improve people’s lives with increased job skills to help them find gainful employment, English language classes to communicate effectively, book giveaways and Little Free Libraries to make books available to anyone.
