UPDATE AT 2:45 P.M….
One lane of State Road 135 is now open to traffic.
The fire happened at a home owned by Jason and Kim Allman at 360 S. State Road 135, Brownstown. No injuries have been reported.
Brownstown Fire Department Chief Travis McElfresh said the fire started in the basement, and the cause is being investigated at this time.

State Road 135 is closed between U.S. 50 (Commerce Street) and Vallonia at this time because of a house fire. The length of the closure is not known as this time, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, but motorists are being advised to find alternative routes.
