The Jackson County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Jackson County Courthouse, 111 S. Main St., Brownstown.

Agenda items include discussions with Lindsay Sarver, community health improvement strategist with Schneck Medical Center, about the results of a state opioid settlement grant application and with Dan Robison, director of the Jackson County Chamber, and Arann Banks, executive director of the Jackson County Visitor Center, about planning for the 2024 solar eclipse.

County elected officials and department heads also are scheduled to give their reports, including Building Commissioner Conner Barnette, who will have an update about the Jackson County Watermelon Festival on Aug. 4 and 5.

Commissioners meetings are open to the public and press.
