Book discussions planned for July

Jackson County Public Library free book discussion groups in Seymour, Crothersville and Medora plan to gather in person to discuss book themes, writing styles, characters and more in July.

Books are available to check out at the library checkout desks or may be available digitally through Libby or hoopla.

The Tuesday Night Book Club will discuss its monthly book at 7 p.m. July 11 at Cracker Barrel in Seymour. Information services department staff will lead the review of “The Disinvited Guest” by Carol Goodman. Everyone attending should bring money if they plan to eat. Sign up for the program online or when getting the book at the checkout desk.

The book discussion group at the Crothersville Library, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month, will meet in the library meeting room and share thoughts on “Canary in the Coal Mine” by William Cooke at 6 p.m. July 19. The group, led by circulation staff members, is open to adults with no attendance requirement.

Fantastic Fiction will meet in the Seymour Library meeting room and discuss “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek” by Kim Michele Richardson at 11 a.m. July 21. Led by circulation department staff, this group meets on the third Friday of each month.

The Medora Library book discussion group will meet at 5 p.m. July 25 to talk about “Someone Like You” by Karen Kingsbury. Circulation staff members lead the group that meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
