Auditions for Actors Community Theatre of Seymour’s next show, “7 Minutes in Heaven” by Steven Levenson, are at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the theater, 357 Tanger Blvd., Suite 208, at Shops at Seymour.
ACTS is looking for three men and three women, preferably who attended high school in the 1990s, for the cast. No experience is necessary. The show dates are June 30 and July 1, 7 and 8. Zach Thompson is the director.
In the show, it’s a Friday night in 1995, and Monday morning homeroom is a million miles away. Six overstimulated, undersupervised high school students are gathered in Margot’s basement to meet her mysterious boyfriend from summer camp, though none of them have even seen a picture of him, and he has yet to show up.
As the teens keep themselves busy with rounds of party games, the night gives way to stolen kisses, malicious gossip and broken hearts. This heartbreaking, hilariously real play showcases the absurd and terrible ecstasy of being young in America.
