SEYMOUR, INDIANA

Stephen LeRoy McCammon White, 78 of Seymour, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 in Melbourne, Florida. He was born December 1, 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended school in Cortland until his Junior year and graduated from Seymour High School, class of 1963. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather who was dedicated to his family. He also dedicated his life to the Lord, sharing God’s word by providing bibles to people all over the world.

Stephen was a member of Whites Chapel United Methodist Church and served on the Board of Directors for Mental Health America Jackson County for many years. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Seymour and the Seymour Evening Lions Club. His passion in life was being a pilot since 1963. He was a flight instructor at the DePauw University Air Force ROTC for nine years. He loved taking family and friends for rides in his plane. Stephen and his wife, Nancy loved to cruise the seas, spending over 500 nights on the ocean. They also traveled the world together. He enjoyed real estate where he bought, sold and leased properties in five states.

Stephen is preceded in death by his parents, Roy McCammon, Gladys Bertsch McCammon White, and Oscar White and his two sons, Teddy White and Cammon White. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy of Seymour, step-sons, Kenneth and Ryan and two step-grandsons, Ridge and Justin.

Friends may visit with his family from 11 am until service time at 2 pm Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, IN 47274. Entombment will follow at Whites Chapel Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in Stephen’s memory to The Gideons or to Whites Chapel United Methodist Church through Burkholder Chapel.
