Library announces December programming

The Jackson County Public Library is offering programs for adults and teens in December.

Those programs include:

-2 p.m. Dec. 1: Learn to care for your holiday plants from Purdue Extension Jackson County Ag and Natural Resources Educator Richard Beckort in the Seymour Library meeting room. Registration is required by noon Dec. 1.

-10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 3: Meet local authors Courtney Diles, Chad Malone, Emma Shade, Carol Spivey and Yvonne Willhite at a mini author fair in the Seymour Library lobby. The authors will have copies of their books available for purchase.

-4:30 p.m. Dec. 7: Crafters can make gnome ornaments in the Crothersville Library meeting room. Registration is required by Dec. 5. Registration is limited to 10.

-2 p.m. Dec. 15: Crafters can make gnome ornaments in the Medora Library meeting room. Registration is required by Dec. 13. Registration is limited to 10.

Programming for teens ages 12 to 19 will meet in the Seymour Teen Scene unless otherwise noted.

-Dec. 1 to 15: Pick up a trivia scavenger hunt at the Medora Library and turn in a completed form to be entered to win a prize.

-Dec. 2 to 16: Pick up a trivia scavenger hunt at the Crothersville Library and turn in a completed form to be entered to win a prize.

-4:45 p.m. Dec. 5: Teens in grades 6 to 12 are invited to see “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians” during Bad Movie Night. Popcorn and water will be provided.

-4 p.m. Dec. 15: Gamers ages 13 to 18 in Seymour, Crothersville and Medora are invited to join the JCPL Teen Discord server for Fa-Lalala Feud.

-5 p.m. Dec. 19: The Teen Advisory Group will meet. Potential attendees should get an application to return before future meetings.

-1 p.m. Dec. 22: Teens in grades 6 to 12 can make 3D snowflake ornaments with the library’s 3D pens. Registration is required by Dec. 20.

-2 p.m. Dec. 23: Teens are invited to a holiday café to enjoy hot chocolate and winter treats.
