Stephen Jeffrey Davidson, age 64, a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at his residence. He was born on September 6, 1958. He was the son of the late Festus Davidson and the late Elinor Jane Davidson. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Seymour, Indiana. Steve received a Bachelor’s Degree from Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with a Major in Political Science. Upon graduation, he worked for several years as a case manager for the state of Kentucky, in the Covington, Kentucky office.

He was a very intelligent man that was a loyal friend, keeping in contract with many. He deeply cared about the struggles of others. Steve was very active at Redeemer, and enjoyed attending bible studies and offered much input to the discussions. He was very active as a young man in “Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ” in Jackson County which did door to door evangelism. He was concerned for those that did not know Jesus Christ as their Savior. He wanted everyone to know that Jesus lived, died and rose again to save them from their sins. He served faithfully on The Committee for Hispanic Outreach of the Mission Federation for several years which later became Lutheran Hispanic Outreach of South Central Indiana.

This committee had oversight of La Paz De Cristo which holds Lutheran Church services and outreach to the community through a ministry of Word and Sacrament.

Steve was a wonderful man and loved by many and will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his brother, Mike Davidson of Louisville, Kentucky, three nieces, Amanda Davidson and her life partner Derek Crockett of Brownstown, Indiana, Kimberly Davidson and her life partner Jeremy Younker of Brownstown, Indiana and Tara Matherly of Louisville, Indiana.

Two great nieces and two great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Deidra Marie Davidson and his paternal grandparents, Alfred Flemon Davidson and Alabama (Baker) Davidson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Services will begin at 2:00 PM with Rev. Andrew Currao officiating, Rev. Zach Huffman – Liturgist and Rev. Nathan Rastel – Lector.
