It was another record year for high school volleyball in Indiana.

The Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association released the academic all-state list, and a new high of 909 athletes earned honors. The average WGPA (weighted grade point average) was a 3.96.

Six senior players from Jackson County earned a spot on the list.

This year, the IHSVCA instituted new levels of academic excellence: Silver Award (3.5-3.74 WGPA) and Gold Award (3.75 and up WGPA).

Crothersville’s Pearl Shirley was awarded academic all-state in the silver category for the Tigers.

In the gold category for academic all-state were Brownstown Central’s Kalee Borden, Trinity Lutheran’s Bailey Tabeling and Seymour’s Olivia Fish, Addi Lemon and Cali Cummings.

Seymour also had senior managers Cole Wright, Mackenzie Waskom and Sydney North make it on the support staff academic all-state list.
