New Oliver tractor group conducts inaugural ride

Hoosier Heritage Oliver Collectors co-hosted its first event, a tractor drive in conjunction with Bishop Farms.

There were 31 tractors driven in the parade Saturday with several members of HHOC in attendance.

President Ross Rieckers led the group on the 31.5-mile drive through some of the scenic countryside of Jackson County. Treasurer Melvin Bishop followed behind making sure no stragglers were left behind.

Plans already are being made for next year’s ride, which will probably be in August, Rieckers said.

During a meeting after the ride, the group discussed future events, including a possible Christmas party.

Anyone interested in joining HHOC may reach out to Rieckers or any other member. The group has collected dues from 24 of the necessary 25 Hart-Parr Oliver Collectors Association members to be an officially recognized chapter, he said.
