Seymour man arrested for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon

Officers with the Seymour Police Department arrested a man Tuesday after responding to a report of shots being fired, police report.

Rodolfo Salinas Jr., 21, of Seymour was arrested for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, a Level 6 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.

Lt. C.J. Foster said in a news release that on Tuesday, Seymour police responded to a complaint of shots being fired at Village Green Mobile Home Park.

Police took an individual into custody at 678 Peak Ave. when they arrived to the scene, Foster said.

A Jackson Circuit Court search warrant was obtained by police to search the Peak Avenue location, and investigators with the Seymour Police Department were called to the scene to assist in executing the search warrant and process the crime scene.

During the search of the location, a handgun, ammunition, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located, police said.

In Indiana, a Level 5 felony means one to six years in prison with an advisory sentence of three years if convicted.
