A supreme ending to the 2022 fair

Well, I am down to the last day of the 2022 Jackson County Fair.

I arrived and did my normal morning chores at the fair. Then I had the opportunity to take my chicken into quiet barn time at the fair, which is just amazing. I love to see the smiles on everyone’s face as they come in and get the opportunity to see each species up close and pet them.

Then on to take a lunch break at the St. John’s Sauers food stand for chili cheese fries — may be one of my favorites.

I then got the opportunity to sneak in the FFA building to celebrate the birthday of my FFA adviser, Blake Hackman. Then my sister and I walked through the parade of champions with all of our winnings.

Then on to one of the greatest opportunities to get to take part in at the Jackson County Fair, and it was supreme showmanship. I, of course, had to earn the opportunity to get to do this, and it is by winning master showmanship in one of the species I show, and I won it in dairy goats, so I represented the dairy goats.

It was definitely an experience to get the opportunity to do this. I went in trying to stay relaxed and calm but show to the best of my ability. I will be honest with you, this was definitely a very tough thing to do, but I was honored to be awarded the 2022 Jackson County supreme showman.

This had been a goal of mine since I started showing all of my animals was to get the opportunity to win supreme showmanship, and I will say Friday night, I reached yet another one of my goals in my 4-H career.

I want to thank each and every one of you who came to support me and cheer me on. It is something I will never forget.

Then afterwards, my parents and I went to grab a bite to eat. It was then back to start the loading-up process of all of our tack and animals. It made for a pretty long night, but yet again, my parents and sisters stood beside me and helped me out.

I would like to thank my parents and sisters for always being there for me by supporting me and helping me with everything I do, my family and friends for all of their support, all of the 4-H volunteers, fair board, 4-H supporters and donors. Without all of you behind-the-scenes individuals, this fair wouldn’t be possible.

Thanks again for yet another wonderful Jackson County Fair week.
