Great goat showing at fair

My Thursday at the Jackson County Fair is always one of my favorite because it’s dairy goat show day for me.

I started out my morning like any other morning doing all of my chores at the fair. Then on to washing and preparing my goats for the show.

Then I was able to grab some delicious chili cheese fries and a piece of homemade apple pie from the St. John’s Sauers food booth and then relaxed for a little while before showing.

The results from my dairy goat showing were grand champion mother/daughter, grand champion get of sire, reserve grand champion milking goat, third overall milking goat, third overall dry dairy goat, fifth overall dairy goat wether and grand champion master showmanship.

Then our goat club had an adult showmanship, which my older sister won reserve.

Then went on to watch our goat club that put on the dairy goat milk-off. Congratulations to the Purdue Extension Jackson County office for winning the milk-off.

Then finally, I did my evening chores and on to grab me a delicious taco salad from the St. Peter’s Taco House. Only two more days and my 2022 Jackson County Fair will be in the books.
