City man arrested for burglaries at medical offices

A 19-year-old man faces eight felony counts related to four recent burglaries at two medical offices in Seymour, police report.

Jackson Otho Allman of Seymour was arrested Thursday on four Level 5 felony counts of burglary, three Level 6 felony counts of theft and one Level 6 felony count of possession of methamphetamine. He also faces Class A misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, according to a news release issued Tuesday by Lt. C.J. Foster said patrol officers and detectives investigated the four burglaries between June 29 and July 14. One of the incidents was reported at the dental office of Dr. John Walter at 1131 Medical Place, and the other three were at the vision and optometry office of Dr. Linda Fischer and Associates. The theft of items and damage at both locations are estimated to be around $10,000, he said.

On Thursday, investigators developed a suspect and obtained a search warrant for a home at 317 Haag Lane in Seymour. During the execution of the warrant, police found Allman, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Foster said.

Allman was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 12:18 p.m. Thursday.
