Ordination, installation set at Peace Lutheran

Alarik Morris will be ordained and installed at 3 p.m. Sunday as pastor of Peace Lutheran Church, 330 W. Tipton St., Seymour, with a meal to follow in the fellowship hall.

Morris grew up in a small town in rural northeastern Connecticut with his parents, David and Beth Morris, and his younger brother, Cianán Morris. He attended college at Concordia University Ann Arbor, where he met his future wife, Angela Knickelbein Morris.

He graduated from CUAA in 2017 with his bachelor’s degree in family life-community services, and Angela graduated in 2020 with her bachelor’s degree as a director of parish music. They were married in May 2020, shortly before serving at St. Mark Houston in Houston, Texas, during his vicarage. He then graduated from Concordia Seminary St. Louis in May 2022 and was called by God to serve as pastor at Peace Lutheran Church.

Alarik is an avid Red Sox fan and a lover of soccer and enjoys doing anything outdoors. Together, the couple enjoy hiking, running, biking, coffee and getting out on the water.

Something that Alarik is passionate about in ministry is sharing the gospel in a culturally relevant way with those who are “unchurched” and teaching people what it means to be a Christian in the 21st century.
