VALLONIA

Betty A. Peters, 95, of Vallonia, passed away at 10:10 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2022, at the Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown, IN. Her health had been declining for the past several years, but as always, she lived her life to the fullest, helping anyone in need, in service to our Lord Jesus Christ. She loved the Lord, her family, and her friends. She was a member of Driftwood Christian Church and attended Vallonia Christian Church.

Betty was born on February 26, 1927, in Campbellsburg, IN to the late Frank &Hazel (Robbins) Gipson. When Betty was a sophomore in high school, she went to work in an ammunition factory when WWII started. Later, she earned her GED at the age of 65 and was so proud of that accomplishment. On October 11, 1946, she married Norris F. Peters, Sr. and he preceded her in death on February 22, 1999, after 53 years of marriage.

Survivors include her children: Vicki (Kenny) McKain, Rick (Jane, deceased) Peters, &Kayda Morris; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, &several nieces &nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband; son, Norris Peters Jr.; &sisters, Daphne Allen &Rowena Hobson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia, with Chris Criminger officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 12th from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. and from noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Hoosier Christian Village, Vallonia Christian Church, or Driftwood Christian Church.
