Lineups announced for two local summer concert series

Two local organizations have announced the returns of summer concert series with free music and food and drinks available for purchase.

Seymour Main Street organizes Seymour CityJam, while Brownstown Ewing Main Street also presents a series of summer concerts.

The first CityJam show starts at 6:30 p.m. May 19 at the JCBank Pavilion at Crossroads Community Park, 101 E. Tipton St., Seymour.

Mellencougar, a John Mellencamp tribute band, will open the season, followed by Sweet Tea Trio on June 16, Woomblies Rock Orchestra on July 21, Sounds of Summer: A Beach Boys Tribute on Aug. 18 and Flying Buffaloes on Sept. 15.

Food and drinks will be available to purchase from The Pines beginning at 6 p.m. before each show and will be available throughout the evening.

There is no cost for admission, and attendees are welcome to bring chairs and blankets, visit sponsors’ booths and buy merchandise from Seymour Main Street as well as the featured band.

In the event of rain, the concerts will be moved to Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 655, 122 E. Second St., Seymour. Follow facebook.com/seymourmainstreet for those announcements.

Brownstown Ewing Main Street’s summer concert series will kick off June 18 at Heritage Park, 121 E. Walnut St., Brownstown.

Forrest Turner will perform at 6 p.m., opening for Taylor Cromer.

The rest of the schedule includes Justyn Underwood opening for Isaac Rudd and The Revolvers on July 16 and Turner opening for Christine Kindred on Aug. 6.

All shows will start at 6 p.m., and admission is free. Food and drinks will be available to purchase from vendors.
