Library celebrating National Volunteer Week

The Jackson County Public Library has plans to celebrate National Volunteer Week, which begins Sunday and continues through April 23.

The week is a time when the library expresses its appreciation to everyone who has volunteered their time and service during the period between May 2021 and March 2022.

The library plans to thank current and former Friends of the Jackson County Public Library board members Jim and Debbie Daily, Joyce Fouts, Sandi Hall, Diane Kemling, Lori McDonald and January Rutherford and the many Friends members who have volunteered for the Book Nook, bimonthly sales and Oktoberfest parking.

Volunteer opportunities at the Seymour, Crothersville and Medora libraries are listed online at myjclibrary.org/volunteer-opportunities.

Anyone 13 and older may fill out an application to become a library volunteer. Applications are available at all library locations or on the library website at myjclibrary.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Volunteer-Brochure-2018.pdf. Anyone working directly with children under 18 also will be required to do an Indiana State Police background check.
