The Mid-Southern Conference announced its boys basketball honors on Wednesday night, and two Braves made the list.

Brownstown Central’s Jack Benter and Carter Waskom were named to the all-MSC team.

Brownstown, Scottsburg and Eastern were the only three teams that had at least two players make the all-conference team.

Benter and Waskom were the Braves’ two leading scorers on the season and helped them win a share of the MSC title along with North Harrison.

Benter averaged 26.5 points per game in the regular season, while Waskom scored 17.9. They were the top scoring duo in Jackson County, as well.

They put together an impressive postseason, scoring a bulk of their team’s points en route to a sectional championship and a regional semifinal appearance.

Joining Benter and Waskom on the all-MSC team were North Harrison’s Logan McIntire, Silver Creek’s Branden Northern, Scottsburg’s Hayden Cutter, Eastern’s Cade Jones, Corydon Central’s Tyler Fessell, Scottsburg’s Kody Clancy, Austin’s Brysen Montgomery and Eastern’s Jacob Cherry.

Earning honorable mention were Corydon’s Anthony Martin, North Harrison’s Ethan Oakley, Silver Creek’s Zac Stricker, North Harrison’s Kaleb Kellams, Corydon’s Austin Vaughn, Scottsburg’s Jack Miller and North Harrison’s Sawyer Wetzel.

Waskom will graduate after an impressive four years with the Braves, while Benter will return for his junior season next winter as one of the top scorers in Jackson County.
