SEYMOUR

Ida LaVerne Taskey 81, of Seymour, IN passed away Friday February 11, 2022, in Seymour. She was born in Jennings Co. in 1940 to the late Chester Maschino and Grace Moore. In 1962 at Four Corners Church, she married Jerry Vincent Taskey, and he proceeded her in death in 2015.

LaVerne was a member Immanuel Lutheran Church of 40/8 La Societe De Femme, American Legion Auxillary, and a collector of Norman Rockwell. She worked as an operating room aide the Schneck Medical Center. LaVerne enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends.

She was loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother and always made sure their home was always open to everyone.

She is survived by her children; Jerrie Marie (Mike) Dover and Terry Lee (Mindy) Taskey, grandchildren; Paul, Tabitha, and Matthew, and 6 great grandchildren, brothers; Alvin Maschino, Ernest Maschino, and Allen Maschino, sisters; Helen Elkins, Christine Foredice.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, twin sisters Marilyn Braley and Carolyn Spicer, Doris Tormoehlen, and brother Joe Maschino.

Visitation will be held at Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Thursday February 17, 2022, from 4-8 pm and on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Services will be held at Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Friday February 18, 2022, at 10:30 am with Pastor Philip Bloch officiating.

In keeping with LaVerne’s wishes cremation services will be performed following the service and burial will take place at a later date at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dona and Dana Myers Cancer Center, and Donor’s Choice in care of Voss and Sons Funeral Service.
