Purdue Extension’s Farmland for the Next Generation program is designed to help attendees achieve their land acquisition goals.
The five-session virtual interactive series will address three paths to land access: Leasing, purchasing and receiving land through inheritance or gift. It uses a skills-based approach that focuses on what people need to be able to do, not just on what they need to know.
The series will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday evenings from Feb. 21 through March 21.
Purdue Extension Educators and industry professionals will present on a variety of topics, including financial readiness, paths to land access, finding farmland and assessing farmland suitability.
The registration fee is $50. Individuals can sign up online by Monday.

The curriculum was created by the American Farmland Trust, supported by a four-year Educational Enhancement grant from the USDA Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development program. The program is sponsored by Farm Credit Mid-America.
