Tigers drop game at West Washington

The Crothersville boys basketball team went on the road Friday night and suffered a 69-45 loss to West Washington.

The Tigers only trailed by three, 21-18, after the first quarter, but the Senators lead continued to grow from there.

West Washington got up by double digits at halftime, leading Crothersville 38-22. It was a 56-34 lead at the end of the third quarter before the eventual 24-point defeat.

Preston West led the Tigers in scoring with 14 points, making seven 2-point shots while going 2-2 from the free throw line.

Zach Helt wasn’t too far behind West, scoring 12 points, including two 3-pointers. Logen O’Sullivan scored seven points, Adam Turner six, Devin Morgan four and Damian Bowman two.

Helt, O’Sullivan and Turner accounted for the Tigers’ five 3-pointers on the night.

West Washington had three players score in double figures with 24 points, 15 points and 11 points.

With the loss, Crothersville dropped to 2-15 on the season.

The Tigers will get a chance to rebound later tonight when they play at Dugger Union at 6 p.m. Next week will also be a busy week for Crothersville, playing at Medora on Monday night, then playing two home games on Friday and Saturday against Lanesville and Henryville, respectively.

Medora falls to Edinburgh

The Medora boys basketball team went on the road to Edinburgh on Friday night, but the Hornets fell short as the Lancers came away with a 60-43 win.

Medora trailed 16-9 after the first quarter and could never regain the lead from there.

The Hornets are now 3-15 on the season and will next play at home on Monday when they host Crothersville.

Like the Tigers, Medora will also play next Friday at Cannelton and then again on Saturday at home against Washington Catholic.
