Class on meal planning and budgeting

Molly Marshall, an educator with Purdue Extension Jackson County, plans to teach a food budgeting and meal planning class from 4 to 5 p.m. Jan. 10 in the meeting room at the Jackson County Public Library, 303 W. Second St., Seymour.

Marshall will show class attendees how to save time and plan healthy meals while staying within a budget. During the one-hour class, attendees also will learn about how to get the most nutritious food for their dollar.

The following topics will be covered: Create a grocery game plan; eating better on a budget; food storage chart; food safety tips; leftover makeovers/refrigerator reboots; and make your own casserole leftovers.

The same class also will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Feb. 7 in the meeting room at the Crothersville Library at 120 W. Main St. Registration is required by Feb. 4.

Registration for both classes is now open.
