SEYMOUR
Marlin Lee Rothert, age 71, of Seymour, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Mr. Rothert was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers, where he belonged to the Fellowship Club and served on the Sauers school board.
Marlin was a grain and dairy farmer his entire life. He also worked at H.O. Canfield, Onkyo, Dicksons, and Premier. He was a member of the United States Air Force Reserves for five years and a member of the NRA. Marlin loved his family and loved spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his kids play sports, going to Florida, hunting, and attending farm machinery shows.
Born on September 29, 1950, in Seymour, Marlin was the son of Carroll and Arnell Wehmiller Rothert, both of whom preceded him in death. On August 12, 1972, at White Creek Lutheran Church, he married Roleen Schlehuser and she survives in Seymour.
Survivors also include one son: Nathan Rothert of Seymour; one daughter, Nicole (Jason) Werling of Pendleton; one sister, Kathy (Paul) Trotta of Columbus; three grandchildren: Matthew Rothert, Isabella Rothert, and Lily Werling; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Marlin Lee Rothert will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers, with Pastor Craig Muhlbach officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers.
Interment will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers, or St. John’s Lutheran School, Sauers.
