Salvation Army bell ringing underway

Several city of Seymour employees took time out of their day Monday to ring the bells outside Walmart Supercenter in Seymour.

That means it’s the time of year for The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign.

The campaign kicked off Nov. 26 and runs through Dec. 24.

Money raised helps Jackson County families with emergency assistance, including utilities, lodging, rent, transportation, medical needs, food, clothing, disaster assistance and other emergency needs. This is the only emergency assistance available of its kind for county residents.

Volunteer bell ringers are still needed this season. Sign up to ring at registertoring.com. It’s open to anyone, including individuals, couples, families, organizations, school groups, churches, businesses and industries.
