Spall nets 27 points for Crothersville in loss

Despite Cable Spall’s 27 points, the Crothersville boys could not stay up with host Austin, Friday night, the Tigers losing their last regular-season game of the season, 71-56.

The score was close in the first half, with Crothersville trailing 17-13 after one period and 28-25 at the intermission, but the Eagles (5-16) began pulling away in the third quarter.

Crothersville concluded regular-season play 4-18 and next plays Tuesday night in a late first-round sectional game at West Washington against Trinity Lutheran.

The other Tiger scorers Friday were Zach Helt with 10 points, Dominic Stevens and Devin Morgan with 7 points each, Quentin Keasler 3, and Matthew Clouse 2 points. Stevens gathered 9 rebounds.

High scorer for Austin was Brysen Montgomery with 20 points.

Austin also won the junior varsity game, 68-44. Elijah Plasse scored 15 points for Crothersville.
