Mrs. Catherine Hinton, 88, of Seymour, passed away On February 17, 2021 at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour. In 1932, she was born to the late Theodore Schulte and Emma (White) Schulte. She spent her entire life in Seymour and was a graduate of Shields High School. Catherine was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was confirmed. Catherine worked as a switchboard operator for Indiana Telephone Corporation. She also worked at Schneck Medical Center and retired after many years of service. After retirement, she worked part time at Exit 76 Antique Mall in Taylorsville. She and her husband Bob were the owners and operators of the Gun Trader. She loved completing puzzles, crosswords, visiting with friends and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Catherine was also known for being an excellent cook. She was a friendly and outgoing woman who did not know a stranger. She had a wonderful smile that would light up a room and completely change the atmosphere.

Catherine married Robert E. Hinton on January 6, 1957 at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Reverend Victor Mack. Her husband Bob preceded her in death on December 8, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother Hubert Schulte and sister Alberta Ruetter.

Catherine is survived by her sons, Mike (Laura) Hinton, Greg (Cindy) Hinton, Tom (Michelle) Hinton; grandchildren, Theresa (Barry) Duncan, Dexter Hinton, Chris (Allie) Hinton, Nick Hinton, Alex Hinton (Fiancee Caitlin), Stephen Hinton, Conner Hinton and Braden Hinton. Great-grandchildren Hudson Hinton and Declan Duncan.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church after 9:30 AM until time of service at 10:30

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 10:30 AM being conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service.

Service will be livestreamed through Immanuel Lutheran Church website at ImmanuelSeymour.com.

Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are required as well as social distancing within the building. Cards and notes of condolence are most welcome.
