Cable Spall poured in 21 points for Crothersville Saturday afternoon, but Edinburgh shut down the rest of the Tigers for a 66-34 victory.

No other Tiger player scored more than three points in the home game that dropped the team’s record to 3-12. Edinburgh improved to 14-4.

The Lancers had a 13-6 lead after the first quarter but expanded it to 27-10 at halftime. A 21-8 spread in the third period moved Edinburgh further in front.

Edinburgh was led by Caleb Dewey with 15 points and Isaac Roberts with 14.

The other scorers for the Tigers were Matthew Clouse, Zach Helt and Logen O’Sullivan with three points each and Quinten Keasler and Devin Morgan with two points apiece. Keasler had seven rebounds.

“We were short two starters today (due to attendance at a funeral and contact tracing related to the coronavirus),” said Crothersville coach Bobby Riley, “and we couldn’t find any offense rhythm. We continue to struggle to rebound the basketball.”

Crothersville is not an exceptionally tall team, but Riley lamented the 48-23 deficit rebounding.

“We were beat on the boards 48-23, and you won’t win any games giving the team twice as many shots as you took,” Riley said. “Rebounding is about who wants the ball more.”
