At approximately 2:39 a.m. Sunday, Officer Kevin Settle responded to a report of a belligerent woman trespassing on a Medora property and being inside the owner’s dog kennel refusing to leave, according to a news release from Lt. Adam Nicholson with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Dept.
Settle told the woman, whom he was able to identify as Konkle, to leave the dog kennel, but she refused to exit, police.
He then went into the kennel where Konkle started fighting him and tried to remove his firearm from its holster, police said.
Realizing the situation, Settle successfully tased Konkle, Nicholson said. He was able to gain control of Konkle and place her in handcuffs.
She tried resisting arrest after being handcuffed and kicked Officer Billy Dishman, who had arrived to assist. He was not seriously injured.
Konkle was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 3:55 a.m. Sunday and was being held without bond pending her initial hearing.
A Level 5 felony carries a sentence of one to six years in prison with an advisory sentence of three years if convicted.
