CROTHERSVILLE

Steven Lee Murphy, 64, of Crothersville, passed away in the comfort of his home on September 15, 2020. He was born in Seymour to parents Billy Lee and Doris Faye Henderson Murphy. He was married to Charlotte Susan Thompson Murphy.

Steve was a truck driver for Wischmeier Trucking for many years. He served as a Reserve Deputy for the Jackson County Sheriffs Department for over 20 years. Steve was also a volunteer firefighter for the Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department and then went on to serve on the Vernon Township Fire Board. He enjoyed spending time at the Brownstown Speedway Racetrack.

Steve will be missed by his wife Susan; his daughter, Michelle (Travis) Lee King; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Charlie (Danielle) Murphy and Jim (Lynn) Murphy; sister, Diane (Denver) Hackman; and several nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Brian Murphy.

The funeral service honoring Steve will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at the Uniontown Cemetery.

Family and friends may call on at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service.
