Seymour receives $96,000 grant to rehabilitate airport apron

The U.S. Department of Transportation recently awarded more than $1.2 billion in airport safety and infrastructure grants through the Federal Aviation Administration to 405 airports in 50 states and six U.S. territories.

The grants include more than $40 million for 34 Indiana airports, including Freeman Municipal Airport. The Seymour airport is receiving $96,000 to be used to rehabilitate an apron.

Grants going to other airports in the area include: Bedford ($1,437,450 to construct a taxiway), Columbus ($2,793,500 for a perimeter fence) and Salem ($286,111 to extend a runaway).
