Seymour soars past Scottsburg

Just a day removed from a big win over Providence, the Seymour boys tennis team went right back to work against sectional rival Scottsburg on Friday.

The Owls dispatched Scottsburg, 5-0, with relative ease in what could be a preview of the sectional final later this fall.

No. 1 singles player Vincent Camboulas dropped just three games en route to his 6-1, 6-2 win. Isaac Hardin followed suit with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles while Braden Handloser won his match at No. 3 singles match 6-4, 7-6 (1).

The doubles team of Will Rinehart and Brandon Hubbard won 6-0, 6-2 while Trey Hohenstreiter and Andrew Levine won 6-0, 6-1 at two doubles.

Girls Golf

Braves fall short against Scottsburg

Brownstown Central’s girls golf team battled Scottsburg Friday night and fell just short 204-222.

Lexie Satterthwaite led the way for the Braves with a 53, followed by Payton Ault’s 56. Ashlyn Fox and Ashley Spencer both carded 57s while Hannah Hackman rounded out the Braves varsity scoring with a 58.

Scottsburg’s Avery Bottorff took home medalist honors with a 47.
