Robert "Gene" and Irma Pearson of Seymour will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Heritage Green clubhouse, 5584 N. Sandy Creek Drive, Seymour. Friends and family are invited to attend.

Gene and Irma were married Aug. 14, 1949, in Indianapolis. The Rev. Russell Ford officiated.

They are the parents of three children, Debbie Buffo (deceased), Robin (Bill) Everhart and Cathy Cherry. They have six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Gene retired after 57 years doing what he loved as a self-employed barber.

Irma retired from the job that she loved at Walmart after working for 25 years.
