Wilma Lorrene Voelker, 92 of Seymour, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour. She was born February 23, 1927 in Bloomdale, Ohio to Herman and Naomi Loucks Kern.

She came to Indiana as a young child and grew up in the Corunna/Kendallville, IN area. Throughout her life, she was involved in many church and school activities including choir, musicals and theatrical productions. She loved gardening, growing flowers and vegetables and playing cards with family and friends. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church – White Creek.

Wilma is preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Edward J. Criswell.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 72 years, Donald, her children, Lorrene Felker of Valencia, CA, John (Theresa) Voelker of San Francisco, CA, Jim (Charlotte) Voelker of Butlerville, IN and Pastor Steve (Linda) Voelker of Ft. Wayne, IN, her sister, Donna Criswell of Kendallville, IN, her grandchildren, Brandon (Diana) Crews of Encino, CA, Lynn Voelker of San Francisco, CA, Dustin (Lindsey) Voelker of Columbus, IN, Derrek (Josh) Voelker of Panama City Beach, FL, Hannah (Adam) Cooper of North Vernon, IN, Michael (Abby) Voelker of Ft. Wayne, IN, Emily (Nathan) Miller of Indianapolis, IN and Brittany (Andrew) Peasley of Holland, MI. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Mila Voelker, Raegan Cooper, Aiden Miller, Kylani Miller, Mira Miller, Rylee Peasley, Avaleigh Peasley and Felicity Peasley.

Friends may gather with Wilma’s family from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2019 at Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut St., Seymour, IN 47274 and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church – White Creek with Pastor Justin Whitmore officiating. She will be laid to rest at St. John’s Lutheran Church – White Creek Cemetery.
