Charles and Jennifer Tape of North Vernon celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary early with a family cookout while their son and his family were visiting from Massachusetts.

Charles and the former Jennifer Reynolds were married Sept. 14, 1968, in Jackson County, Tennessee.

They are the parents of two children, Brian (Michelle) of Fall River, Massachusetts, and Julie Tape, deceased. They have seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Jennifer retired from Schneck Medical Center.

Charles retired from Cummins Engine Co.

Both are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour.
