Richard and Jeanette Heckman of Holland, Michigan, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with extended family in July and plan to travel through New England during September.

Richard and the former Jeanette Vogel were married Aug. 17, 1968, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in North Vernon. Father James Dede officiated.

They are the parents of three children, Angela (John) Broyles of Indianapolis, Aric (Melissa) Heckman of Seymour and Alyssa (Shaun) Cowan of Crestview, Florida. They have five grandchildren, Nick and Nola Broyles, Clayton and Hunter Heckman and Bond Cowan.

Both are retired.
