Brian Joseph “Gomer” Goble, 35, of Greenwood, formerly of Seymour, felt the hand of God and went to heaven Thursday, April 27, 2017, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born Dec. 9, 1981, in Seymour, he was the son of Mark and Patty Werskey Goble, both of whom survive.

He was a three letter athlete in wrestling, track and football and a 2000 graduate of Seymour High School. He was a member of Seymour Christian Church. He was employed with FedEx in Indianapolis. He loved to play sports, especially football, and make people laugh. He loved having a good time. He never knew a stranger. He would meet people and strike up a conversation with them. He was a very loving and caring person and loved to eat, especially his Mom’s dirt cake and peanut butter fudge.

Other survivors include a sister, Jennifer (Steve) Fox; his nieces, Avery Jean and Emily Grace Fox; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Richard and Betty Werskey and Clyde and Mildred Goble; and an uncle, Robert Werskey.

The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Voss & Sons Funeral Service with the Rev. Bill Lockman officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from noon until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be to the Seymour Christian Church Building Fund.
