Electronics, hazardous waste collection event set

The Jackson County Recycling District plans to conduct an electronics and household hazardous waste collection and document destruction program from 9 a.m. to noon April 15 in the parking lot at Cummins Inc. Seymour Engine Plant on Fourth Street.

Electronics that will be accepted include televisions, computers, printers, audio equipment, cellphones and other similar times.

Household hazardous waste that will be accepted includes residential cleaning and lawn chemicals, oil, oil-based paints and varnishes. Latex paint will not be accepted.

Personal documents also will be shredded.

This event is for Jackson County residents, and they must provide proof of residency through a driver’s license or government-issued identification.
