Russel L. Wogoman Jr., 95, of Troy, Ohio, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at his daughter’s home.

Born Feb. 17, 1922, in Troy, he was the son of Russell L. Wogoman Sr. and Minnie M. Richardson Wogoman, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married to Lesla for 37 years, and she preceded him in death June 24, 2014.

He received his bachelor’s degree from the Dayton Art Institute. He proudly served his country as a member of U.S. Army during both World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Troy Church of Nazarene, a lifetime member of Troy Veterans of Foreign Wars, a lifetime member of Troy Fish and Game, a lifetime member of Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Post 833 and the Quarter Century Club at Hobart. He worked for Hobart and subsidiaries in Troy.

Survivors include his daughter, Barbara (Ron) Wright of Fairborn; sons, Ronald (Bev) Wogoman of Troy and Donald (Tonia) Wogoman of Melbourne, Florida; stepson, Richard (Jane) Cultice of Troy; stepdaughter, Donna (Steve) Koerner of Seymour; grandchildren, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Lora, Matt, Bryan, Chad, Sarah, Monica, Anthony, Steve and Chris; many loving great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Wogoman and Jerry Wogoman, both of Troy; sister, Joanne Warner of Troy; and his first wife, Julia Overholser of Fairborn.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, Richard and Jack Wogoman.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.

Interment will be at Miami Memorial Park in Covington, Ohio, with full military honors presented by the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
