Castle defeated defending Class 4A state champion New Albany 72-62 on Saturday night in the finals of the Seymour Regional at Lloyd E. Scott Gymnasium.

The Knights (24-3) had balanced scoring as Payton Mills finished with 22, Jack Nunge 20 and Alex Hemenway 17.

New Albany’s Romeo Langford topped all players with 44 points.

The Bulldogs advanced to the finals with a 57-52 win over Center Grove behind 21 points from Langford, while Castle topped Bloomington South 72-62 as Nunge scored 27.

New Albany finished 25-4.
