Harold L. and Barbara J. Garland of Vallonia will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary by planning a trip up the East Coast and to Niagara Falls.

Harold Garland and the former Barbara Isaacs were married Sept. 19, 1965, at Surprise United Methodist Church.

The couple have three children, Sandra L. (Michael) Warren, Pat (Barb) Garland and David (Joy) Garland, all of Vallonia; and eight grandchildren.

He is retired from Cummins Engine Co. after 30 years and is currently owner and operator of Garland’s Garage.

She is retired from the Jackson County Probation Department after 24 years as office manager.

Both are members of Vallonia United Methodist Church.
