Gary and Rhonda Wessel of Seymour celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a reception Aug. 22 at the American Legion in Seymour.

Gary and the former Rhonda Duwe were married Aug. 30, 1975, at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Sauers by the Rev. Earl Petzold.

The couple have two sons, Scotty (Meagan) Wessel of Seymour and Johnny (Loriann) Wessel of Brownstown; and two grandchildren, Gavin Gene Wessel and Carly Faye Wessel.

He is retired from the Indiana State Highway Department and is a school bus driver for Seymour Community School Corp. and farms. He also is a volunteer with the Jackson-Washington Township Fire Department.

She works in the kitchen at Seymour Middle School.

Both are members of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Sauers.
