Seymour native recognzed for defensive work

Indiana University Southeast sophomore libero Taylor Sutton has been named KIAC Volleyball Defender of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Sutton, a Seymour High School graduate, averaged 7.3 digs during last week’s action.

She had a career-high 24 digs against Cincinnati Christian during last Tuesday’s win.

Sutton ranks second in the KIAC with 5.1 digs per set and 28th in the NAIA in digs per set.

Sutton committed just three errors in 72 reception attempts last week for a reception percentage of .958.

The Grenadiers (5-5, 1-0 KIAC) went 3-2 on the week, defeating Cincinnati Christian, IU East and Montreat College and falling to No. 16 Georgetown and St. Catharine.
