Janelle Suzanne Thompson and Jacob Andrew Griffin were married at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour with the Rev. James Rodriguez officiating. A reception followed at Pewter Hall in Brownstown.
The bride is the daughter of Brian and Karla Thompson of Seymour.
The groom is the son of August and Debbie Griffin of Paris, Illinois.
She is a 2004 graduate of Seymour High School and a 2008 graduate of Purdue University. She also is a 2012 graduate of Wesleyan University. She is currently a fourth-grade teacher at Thorntown Elementary School.
He is a 2006 graduate of Paris High School and a 2009 graduate of Eastern Illinois University. He also is a 2013 graduate of Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. He is a member of Lafayette Kiwanis Club and St. James Lutheran Church in Lafayette. He is currently the director of development and planned giving at Purdue University.
The bride wore a strapless, organza ball gown in ivory. The top was gathered with a grouping of lace, pearls and flowers at the waist. She wore a cathedral-length veil with a blusher and carried a cascade bouquet with calla lilies, orchids, roses and Stephanotis.
Matron of honor was Kayla Thompson, sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Katie Irk (cousin of the bride), Leah Watson (cousin of the bride), Jennifer Davis, Kari Schwade and Amber Miller.
They wore black, floor-length gowns in organza. The gowns had an empire waist and one shoulder strap decorated in rhinestones.
Best man was Josh Griffin (brother of the groom). Groomsmen were Gunnar Crowell, Ben Thompson (brother of the bride), Drew Griffin (cousin of the bride), Jared Hausmann, Tim Tuttle (cousin of the groom) and Brandon Seitz (cousin of the bride).
Vocalists were Heather Florido (cousin of the bride) and Keith Stam and Blake Hackman (both uncles of the bride).
Heather Hiten, Tiffany Dappen and Jennifer Miller were in charge of the guestbook, and programs were distributed by Tally and Margy Seitz and Delany Dappen.
At the reception, Dana Henley, Tracy Stam and Billie Trimpe served cake; Linda Eggersman, Karen VonDielingen and Marianne Dooms were bridal assistants; and Mac Attack DJ provided the music.
After a trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple are living in Lafayette.
